PopGoesTheArts Emmy RANT: The MAJOR Snubs
Posted on 12:23 by Unknown
Okay everyone:
I'M PISSED.
Now, as you all know I am a huge "Sons of Anarchy" fan, and while the show has never been an Emmy favorite, you would think I would be used to this.
Nope.
This morning's nominations announcement saw some MAJOR snubs and it wasn't just SOA. I'm here to break down some of the bigger ones for you all.
1. Tatiana Maslany - Orphan Black
This is the biggest one I am reading.
I have not watched the BBC program yet (but planning on it). It seems critics all over the board are outraged over this omission. Actress Tatiana Maslany portrays SEVERAL different characters on the show and many have been left floored with her being left out of the Emmy for Lead Actress in a Drama.
2. Maggie Siff - Sons of Anarchy
As you may remember, I delivered a post about this woman and I stand by it right now. While Katey Sagal should have been nominated as well, Maggie DEFINITELY should have been for her killer portrayal of Tara from season 5.
She was given the best material of her career last season, and I'm still floored by her omission.
3. Michelle Fairley - Game Of Thrones
I have only TWO words for all of you:
RED. WEDDING.
Got it?
Yeah. MAJOR snub.
4. Newsroom
While stars Jeff Daniels and Jane Fonda secured nominations, the show itself was left OUT of Outstanding Drama Series. Big mistake.
The show is brilliantly written by Aaron Sorkin and should have been included in the race.
What do you guys think of these snubs???
